Celebration of Hispanic Heritage: Pollos Mario Seafood & Steakhouse

A three year long search from New York to Florida led the owners of Pollos Mario Seafood & Steakhouse to settle at a location in Long Island – and it is a good thing they did. On November 19, Pollos Mario celebrates a milestone in the Village of Hempstead: 8 years of service and delicious cuisine marked on that day.
The restaurant has faced many challenges but has remained resilient. The partners believe staying authentic to their culture, engaging the palettes of a diverse community, and proper business management has allowed them to weather storms in a challenging economy.
They did not know what to expect when they acquired this current location. It was in the heart of a community that had a growing Hispanic population but was predominantly African American. A restaurant serving tasty Colombian food was the recipe and fusing flavors and tweaking dishes to embrace a diverse community was the magic potion needed to thrive here. Most of the menu items come from the coffee region (or central mountain region) of Colombia; however, they understood that flexibility was a winning formula in business.
Pollos Mario has managed to become a landmark in the village - undoubtedly its ode to great food and a relaxing family environment. Pollos Mario has also contributed to the neighborhood resurgence as it relates to location, job creation and good aesthetic value in several ways and that’s a win-win for the village.
On a busy evening you will find their dining area filled with chatter from the many local residents and patrons.
