The sixth
annual Senior-Senior Prom crowd was an especially jubilant bunch to start
dancing to music, even as they were met and greeted by others. The young
volunteers grabbed a partner and danced all night long.
The Family and
Children’s Association Youth Advisory Council hosted a ‘Night of Motown;’ black
and gold vinyl records and streamers transformed the gymnasium into a ballroom.
Icebreakers ensued, beginning with a game of ‘been there & done that’. Needless
to say, all was grooving until the dinner was served. Nicole Rosow, Team
Director of the Hempstead Village Initiative, said, “This event is a real
coming-together of a community bridging two generations that would otherwise be
separated.” Golden Motown-oldies rang through the hall all night long.
